In the spring semester of 2023-2024, we took a class named "Instructional Technologies and Material Design in English Language" given by Asst. Prof. Mustafa  Polat. In this course, we learned new ways of using technology for teaching and learning.

Before the class, i had little information on the issue of technology integration in English language teaching. Of course, i knew some apps like Duolingo but i never thought that there are actually so many ways we can integrate technology with ELT.  I can say that this course opened my horizon in language learning and teaching.

Thanks to Mustafa Polat's tasks, i experienced so many things. As an example: i  never had a blog before. Opening and designing a blog was something new for me and i can say that i actually liked it.

Another example is Infographics, thanks to the task which we need to create an infographic, now i can prepare better for my presentations! I even used an Infographic for one of my courses this semester.

Creating digital stories was another task we were to be prepared and thanks to this task, i experienced editing for a video.

Doing a collaborative writing task was also a great task since we got to work as a team and all of us experienced writing a review for the first time. Watching and talking about a movie was something we were used to but writing a review and making comments on each other's work was a real brainstorming activity.

I believe one of the newest experiences for all of us was using an AI tool for doing an interview. I get to talk with a figure that i like and create a report for it. As i mentioned, it was something new for me and I'm looking forward to using technology in learning and teaching the English language as a future English teacher!

Considering the tasks i have completed,  the ones liked the most were doing a collaborative writing task with my friends and using an AI tool for doing an interview.  Since i like working on a project with a team and experiencing AI in a different way than just asking simple questions was good, these 2 tasks can be chosen as the top 2.

Even though it is hard to choose, the task i liked the least is probably the podcast task since it was really hard for me to match my voice record with exactly 60 seconds. But other than that, it was a good task.
