Creating an instructional video for the flipped instruction
Hello again everyone! the reason I am writing this is because our teacher Mustafa Polat asked us to create something beneficial and pre-usable before the real-life lesson. In this blog post, I’ll discuss the flipped classroom approach and the video project my group members(Muhammed Emir Özbek, Emir Batu Özdemir, and Hüseyin Obut) and I worked on. The flipped classroom is a method where you learn new content at home, usually through videos or reading, and use class time for activities and discussions. This approach has some great advantages for language classes. It gives you the flexibility to learn at your own pace and makes class time more interactive and focused on practice. But there are also some challenges, like needing good internet access and making sure everyone actually does the prep work before class. When it comes to its advantages, the first thing that comes to my mind is that it's a time saviour. Teachers can use all class hours to practice since students will be able to learn the topic before the lesson. It has advantages for students too. They can learn the topic whenever they want. If they forget something, they re-watch it as many times as they want to...
For our project, we created a video about prepositions of place. My partners and I ran into some challenges, like figuring out how to edit the video properly and deciding who would do what. However, as you know, these problems are easy to overcome. I focused on the first part of the video. In each part, we used one of our voices to teach. We also used Kahoot! to make a fun quiz to test our knowledge of prepositions. Kahoot! is a great tool for making interactive quizzes. This project gave us a better understanding of the flipped classroom and showed us how useful technology can be for learning languages.
