benefit of AI in Language Learning and Teaching: Doing an interview with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

( Mustafa kemal Atatürk (1932) by: SETA)

In this post,  i will talk about my experience of interviewing with Atatürk. The Reason i chose Atatürk to interview is actually pretty simple. Atatürk is the first person to come to my mind when i think about a historical figure who has greatly impacted history. my questions in the interview were about his ideas about his revolutions, the Ottoman Empire's mistakes in World War 1 and strategies he would have used if he were alive in World War 2. Also,  i asked him about his idealized future for Türkiye as well. He answered my questions through Magic School's Character Chatbot,  a website that utilizes various AI features. This tool allowed me to interact with a representation of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

After the interview with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, i wrote a report that includes key points and direct quotes of atatürk from our interview.

After writing the report, I used Magic School's Writing Feedback tool to assess and improve my text. I sought feedback on various aspects such as coherence, word choices, grammar, and the overall flow of the writing. This effort paid off, as the subsequent feedback The detailed insights helped me refine my text significantly, enhancing its clarity and readability.

I could integrate AI tools into my teaching practice by using AI-driven platforms for personalized learning, automated grading, and instant feedback. AI can enhance student engagement through interactive lessons and virtual tutors. Additionally, it can help identify learning gaps, allowing me to tailor instruction to meet individual student needs more effectively. AI in language learning offers personalized instruction, instant feedback, and increased engagement through interactive tools. However, it may lack the nuanced understanding of human interactions and cultural context, potentially leading to over-reliance on technology and reduced development of critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills. Balancing AI with human teaching is crucial.
